As an approved BORA Gold Partner, Arlington Interiors has a range of working BORA appliances on display at our Farsley showroom, including one of only a small number of fully working BORA X BO steam ovens in Yorkshire.

Our design team specify and install BORA appliances in bespoke kitchens across Leeds and Yorkshire, from integrated venting hobs and modular cooking systems to the BORA X BO. We help you choose the right appliances around the kitchen layout, the way you cook and the overall design of the room.

BORA is perhaps best known for integrating extraction directly into the cooktop, removing the need for a conventional hood above the hob. This can make a significant difference to the design of an island or open-plan kitchen, particularly beneath a roof lantern, skylight or vaulted ceiling.

BORA X BO Steam Oven

The BORA X BO is BORA’s flagship oven, combining a full steam oven and conventional oven in one beautifully considered appliance. Controlled through a tilting touchscreen, it offers precise cooking, steaming and baking functions, together with a fully automatic cleaning programme.

Arlington Interiors is one of only a small number of showrooms in Yorkshire with a fully working BORA X BO on display. Our showroom model is also fitted with BORA’s optional anodised frame, giving you the chance to see how the appliance looks, feels and performs as part of a finished kitchen.

For an appliance at this level, seeing it working makes a real difference. Visit our Farsley showroom and we can demonstrate the BORA X BO, talk you through its functions and help you decide whether it suits the way you cook.

BORA Venting Hobs

BORA venting hobs combine the cooktop and extraction system in one appliance, drawing cooking vapours downwards at the point they are created rather than up towards a conventional extractor hood.

This opens up the space above the hob and gives greater flexibility when designing islands, open-plan kitchens or spaces beneath roof lanterns, skylights and vaulted ceilings.

Air Extraction or Recirculation?

BORA can be designed for external extraction or recirculation, and the right solution depends on the room rather than simply the appliance. Where a practical duct route is available, cooking air can be extracted outside. Where an island sits well away from an external wall, or introducing a new vent is impractical, a recirculating system can provide a more suitable solution.

BORA Pure

BORA Pure combines an induction cooktop and integrated extractor in a compact all-in-one system. It is particularly well suited to kitchen islands where a clean cooking area is wanted without an overhead extractor.

We have installed BORA Pure including a recirculating Pure system in an open-plan kitchen extension in Alwoodley. The island sits beneath twin roof lanterns, so keeping the area above the hob completely clear is an important part of the overall design.

BORA X Pure

BORA X Pure offers a larger cooking surface within the Pure family, combining induction cooking and integrated extraction in one streamlined appliance. It is a strong choice for a larger island where generous cooking space is important but the design still calls for an uninterrupted view above the worktop.

BORA X Pure

In this Menston kitchen, the BORA X Pure is set into the worktop beneath the wall cabinetry, combining a generous induction cooking area with extraction built directly into the hob. This removes the need for a separate extractor hood, keeping the cooking area clean and uncluttered.

BORA M Pure

BORA M Pure combines induction cooking with integrated extraction and provides another option where more cooking space is wanted within a compact all-in-one format.

Bora M Pure Hob

Our Horsforth installation also shows why BORA should not be thought of as an appliance only for contemporary handleless kitchens. The M Pure sits within a solid walnut island in a traditional cream shaker kitchen, beneath a vaulted ceiling and large skylight. With no canopy above the hob, the architecture of the room remains uninterrupted.

Bora Classic 2.0

BORA Classic 2.0 is a modular system, allowing different cooking methods to be combined around the extraction system. It is particularly useful where a client wants a more individual cooking setup than a single induction surface.

BORA Classic 2.0In our Kirkstall project, a BORA Classic 2.0 surface induction set with integrated teppanyaki and downdraft extraction sits alongside a separate two-burner Classic 2.0 gas hob. The system is ducted through BORA EcoTube and includes a BORA silencer. Set into the angled Dekton island, it provides induction, gas and teppanyaki cooking without introducing a canopy above the island.

Other BORA Systems

The wider BORA range includes additional compact and modular systems, including S Pure and Professional 3.0. Rather than choosing from a product list alone, we can advise which BORA system best suits your cooking preferences, worktop space, cabinetry and extraction route as part of the kitchen design process.

FAQ

What is a BORA venting hob?

A BORA venting hob combines the hob and extractor in one appliance. Instead of drawing steam and cooking vapours upwards into a traditional extractor hood, the built-in extraction system pulls them down directly from the cooking surface.
This removes the need for an overhead extractor and gives much more freedom when planning a kitchen, particularly around islands and open-plan spaces.

Is a BORA hob better than a traditional extractor hood?

It depends on the kitchen. A good overhead extractor can work extremely well, but there are layouts where a BORA system makes much more sense.
It is particularly useful over a kitchen island, beneath a window or in rooms with features such as vaulted ceilings, roof lanterns or skylights, where a traditional extractor could interrupt the design.
At Arlington Interiors, we look at the room, the way you cook and the overall kitchen design before recommending the most suitable extraction system.

What is the difference between BORA Pure, M Pure and X Pure?

BORA Pure, M Pure and X Pure all combine induction cooking and extraction within one appliance, but they offer different amounts of cooking space and flexibility.
BORA Pure is a compact option suited to many everyday kitchen layouts, while M Pure provides a larger cooking area and greater flexibility. X Pure is larger again and uses flexible induction zones to give you more freedom when positioning pans.
There is also the more compact S Pure, which can be particularly useful where worktop space is limited.
We can demonstrate the different options in our Leeds showroom and help you decide which model works best with your kitchen design.

Does a BORA hob have to be ducted outside?

No. BORA venting hobs can usually be installed either with ducted extraction or as a recirculating system.
With ducted extraction, cooking vapours are taken outside the property. A recirculating system instead filters the air before returning it to the room, which can be useful where an external ducting route is difficult or impractical.
The right option depends on the layout of the kitchen and the property, so we normally establish this early in the design process.

Are BORA hobs noisy?

One of the advantages of extracting cooking vapours directly at hob level is that the system does not need to draw air from above your head in the same way as a traditional cooker hood.
Noise levels will vary depending on the BORA system, extraction setting and ducting arrangement, and this is something we consider when designing the kitchen.
The best way to judge it is to experience one working. We have BORA on display at our Farsley showroom, where our team can demonstrate the system properly.

How much does a BORA hob cost?

The cost of a BORA hob depends on the model, the kitchen layout and how the extraction system is installed.
A BORA Pure installation, for example, is very different from specifying a modular BORA Classic or Professional system with several cooking surfaces. Ducting, worktop preparation and cabinetry can also affect the overall cost.
BORA is a premium appliance brand, so we prefer to look at the complete kitchen design before recommending a system and providing an accurate price.

Can I see a BORA hob working in Leeds?

Yes. Arlington Interiors is a BORA Gold displaying retail partner, and we have BORA appliances on display at our showroom at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley, Leeds.

Our displays allow you to see how the extraction works in a real kitchen setting and compare BORA alongside other premium appliance brands including Siemens and Miele.
